title: shelter of existence

existence is the essence. we believe in the existence of the mortal and the divine. which is why we build. from caves to huts to mansions. our search is for safe shelter, which offers calmness in chaos. what seems indestructible today, strong as houses, solid as forts, will no doubt fall tomorrow in the onslaught of destructive time. history will bombard into oblivion our proud boasts of building bastions. but when our world crumbles around us, who is it that holds a cover over our hapless heads? whose unarticulated voice do we hear in the vignettes narrated by life over time? time which has no beginning, no end, which flows on and ever…

thus, looking beyond the ravages of destruction, the common man does believe –

when walls fall apart, and storms rage wild,

my mother shelters me, for i am her child.
