- projecting art of global genius
- with UNESCO recognising durga puja as intangible cultural heritage, our festival goes global. to reach out to the world, our artist sanatan dinda takes inspiration from vincent van gogh. he imagines the dutch master’s famous painting ‘starry night’ as an installation. the cityscape is vertically silhouetted in the horizontal artwork. the sunflower makes its symbolic presence felt as homage to nature.
bakul bagan has always experimented through Art in its puja themes. we have showcased many bengal greats like mira mukherjee, bikas bhattacharya, shanu lhiri, isha muhammad, nirod mazumdar, manu parekh, paresh maity and manik talukdar. this year we try to comprehend a global genius:
