in the not-so-distant past, behala-barisha lay within the sundarbans’ embrace, where mangroves thrived, tigers roamed, and early settlers braved nature’s forces. over time, villages rose, cities replaced forests, and the bond with nature faded. our 2024 theme pays tribute to this lost harmony—durga as the embodiment of nature, fierce yet nurturing, evoking bonbibi, dakshin rai, and behula’s journey on the adi ganga. through Art, we urge a return to balance, reawakening the wild’s pulse within our modern world.
